The words you use can sell a home for more

Selling a home is about more than just knowing how to open the door to prospective buyers and filling out the right forms. A real estate professional must take great care with the words that they choose to advertise their listings, as the words you use can affect the way buyers see the listing and the offers they make.

We understand how to write listings. We’ve been doing it for so long now that we are ultimately familiar with what is appealing for a new home in the South Bay. We know the high points and the best features and what people are looking for when they come to the South Bay to look for property. Descriptive words are very important, such as the materials the home is made from (granite, oak, marble, travertine) in helping people see the value of a property for what it is really worth.

There was a recent article in the Wall Street Journal titled “What’s a Word Worth?”  in which Professor Bennie Waller, of Longwood University, says that each specific description used in a listing can  increases the sale price by almost 1 percent and increases the probability of the home selling by almost 1o percent.

Positive opinion words are so very important. If the home is beautiful, or fabulous, or gorgeous, or the view is stunning, we make sure to tell the buyers. Just using ten positive words to describe the actual beauty of your listing can increase the sale price by 10% or so.

You only have a few seconds to capture a buyer’s attention; let us do that for you with our long history of writing and describing South Bay luxury home listings.
